Lalisa Manobal (born  March 27, 1997), also known  as Lisa, is a Thai rapper, singer and dancer from South Korea. She is a member of the  Korean girl group Blackpink, which was founded by YG Entertainment. Lisa made her solo debut in September 2021 with the single album "Lisa". The album sold over 736,000 copies during its release week in South Korea, making it her  first female artist. The music video for the lead single of the same name was played 73.6 million times on YouTube  24 hours after its release, making it the most watched music video in the first 24 hours on the  solo artist's platform.

 

Early life and career beginnings

Born  March 27, 1997 in Buriram, Thailand, as Pranpriya Manobal, she later legally changed her name to Lalisa, with the advice of a fortune teller acclaimed for her prosperity. As an only child, she grew up with a Thai mother and a Swiss stepfather. Lisa's mother is called Chitti hip Brüschweiler. Her stepfather is Marco Bruschweiler, a well-known chef currently working in Thailand. Lisa has completed her secondary education at Prafamon Tree Schools I and II.

After taking dance lessons at the age of four, she  regularly participated in dance competitions throughout her childhood, including  "To Be Number One," and joined 11 We Zaa Cool dance crews from Got7 with BamBam. .. In September 2009, the group participated in the  LG Entertainment Million Dream Sanan World Competition, which aired on Channel 9, and won the "Special Team" award. Lisa also participated in the singing competition as a school representative of the "Thailand's Good Moral Top 3" sponsored by the Moral Promotion Center in early 2009, finishing second.

In 2010, 13-year-old Lisa auditioned for Korean record label YG Entertainment in Thailand.  Lisa became interested in the K-Pop industry at an early age, praising artists Big Bang and 2NE1 and one day wanted to  follow a similar path. Of the 4,000 applicants, she was the only qualified person, and then CEO Yang Hyun Suk provided Lisa with the opportunity to become a YG Entertainment trainee. Lisa also impressed 1TYM's Danny Im, one of the judges at the audition. Danny Im  later praised his confidence on stage and his off-stage attitude.

In 2011, Lisa moved to South Korea and started five years of training as a trainee. She officially joined the label  on April 11, 2011 as her first non-ethnic Korean trainee. She starred in the music video for Taeyang's single "Ringa Linga" in November 2013 and won with a member of iKon and one of the background dancers. In March 2015, Lisa got her first streetwear model job  following a Korean cosmetics brand. 2016 Moonshot-Brand Nona9on.
